NFL 2006 Week 8 Predictions
Last Week's Record: 5-8 (38.4%)
Season Record: 62-38 (62.0%)
Locks of the Week: 7-5 (58.3%)
5-8? 5-8? Are you kidding me? 5-8? On top of that, 0-2 for my locks.
Last week was pitiful. It can only get better, right? 5-8?
Take these picks with extreme caution, my luck is bad right now.
Arizona at Green Bay
Matt Lienart can take a few lessons from Brett Favre as he carves up the Cardinal defense.
Pick: Green Bay Packers
Atlanta at Cincinnati
This worked last week. I want the Falcons to win. The Bengals are going to win. Make me be wrong again on this one.
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals
Baltimore at New Orleans
The quarterback situation is going to cost the Ravens this one. And to think that they could have signed Drew Brees this off-season.
Pick: New Orleans Saints
Houston at Tennessee
My girlfriend says Houston because it is warmer and Tennesse is full of hicks. That is as good as a coin flip, much like this game.
Pick: Houston Texans
Jacksonville at Philadelphia
The Jaguars have to have this one, but so do the Eagles. Another toss up, but since Bryon Leftwich is out, that will have to be the clincher.
Pick: Philadelphia Eagles
Seattle at Kansas City
No starting quarterback for either team. No starting running back for Seattle and maybe no second string quarterback for the Chiefs. This one will be low scoring.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
San Francisco at Chicago
To quote the SNL skit, “Da Bears.”
Pick: Chicago Bears
Tampa Bay at N.Y. Giants
I am going to go out on a limb here and say the Buccaneers ride this momentum to an upset.
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
St. Louis at San Diego
This should be a high-scoring, exciting affair. Another toss up.
Pick: San Diego Chargers
Indianapolis at Denver
Defense beats offense in the big games. And well Peyton Manning and big games do not usually go so well.
Pick: Denver Broncos
N.Y. Jets at Cleveland
The Browns have a new offensive coordinator. Now did I say offensive or offensive? That is for you to decide.
Pick: N.Y. Jets
Pittsburgh at Oakland
If the Steelers cannot win this game, they will not win another one all year. Well except for those two against Cleveland.
Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers
Dallas at Carolina
I wonder how much sleep Tony Romo got this week thinking about Julius Peppers coming for him. Boo.
Pick: Carolina Panthers
New England at Minnesota
Another big game and the best clutch quarterback is at the helm. Tom Brady, as usual, finds a way to win.
Pick: New England Patriots
Here are those other predictions as always:
